Lasermach Laser Applications Lab
Our laser applications lab is located on-site at our Belgium headquarters in Mouscron.
Our testing environment is equipped with a wide variety of the latest solutions and add-ons needed to test your products. We’re able to test, clean, weld, pointweld, annular weld, deburr, strategize, and identify the best laser cleaning/welding solutions for your needs.
We have multiple testing lasers on-site to utilize and determine the best solution for your needs. Aside from our testing lasers in the lab, we always have demonstration lasers that we can use for testing in the lab as schedules allow.
Our demo lasers include most of our laser welding and laser cleaning machines.
To ensure we’re able to properly test your product and suggest the best laser welding or cleaning solution for your needs, we’ll need a sample of the type of product needing cleaned/welded — whether it’s a part that you’ll use for bonding or a piece from the aircraft you need to clean.

Typically when a customer approaches Lasermach about buying a new laser welder we recommend doing some test welds. Some welding applications are straight forward and we can recommend a welder that will do the job. But in many cases the application isn't straight forward, and we like to make sure that we are providing the laser welder that will give the expected results.
At Lasermach we offer free test welds to anyone that is shopping for a new laser welder. You can find more information about all our laser welders by going to here and reading about the different kinds of laser welders and what applications they are used for.
Our testing process is broken into two primary steps:
initial and secondary testing.
INITIAL TESTING
During initial testing, we’ll take parts in and take before pictures. We’ll start our video process and do a basic parameter test. From there, we identify the range of parameters performed on the parts. Does it get the right result? If not, we dive in and finesse to get the right result.
Once we can get the desired result, then we take operational requirements into consideration — including whether you need a handheld or automatic solution. Our video process will include that second wave of testing. After we are confident in the basics of being able to get the desired results, we’ll take after pics to show the difference. We’ll put together a report of our findings and send it to you for evaluation.
SECONDARY TESTING
The second step in our process is extremely variable depending on your needs, the results from the initial testing, and other technical factors. It can also require some testing at your own location.
Sometimes, we can conduct an on-site demo at your location to make the secondary testing process go quicker. This involves bringing the laser solution to your location to prepare the bonding parts and then hand them over for your own testing. This mitigates the back and forth and allows operators and leaders to use and review the equipment. Plus, we bring the laser solution you would use so you can approve it on the spot on your own parts.

Test welding in your company
For PhotonWeld© test welding, we come to your company with our laser welding system. We arrive the night before and set up the workplace for welding the next day. On the day of the test welding, we start with a short safety briefing, then we and your employees weld on your components.
If you have come to the taste, we will be happy to offer you an attractive offer for a rental on a weekly or monthly basis. We will charge you 50% of the rental costs for the future purchase price.
WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE SENDING YOUR PRODUCT FOR TESTING ?
Because products need to be initially tested in our on-site laser applications lab, there are some size restrictions to what products we can test. We have a forklift (of max 1000kg), so we need to be able to safely transport your product — keeping the weight and size in consideration. Talk to our sales team about the exact dimensions of our loading dock and weight limitations.
You’ll also be responsible for all shipping costs of your product. This includes shipping to our headquarters and shipping back to your location. We can provide a demo at your facility, but to ensure the testing environment is optimized for the best results and under full safety conditions, we typically only provide initial testing at our facility. If your product is too large for our applications lab, we can work with your team to create an ad hoc testing and laser-safe environment at your location, but you’ll need to work with our team to see if this is a viable option.
